Mauritius: Fast Track Committees in Ministries to implement investment projects

Each Ministry will set up Fast Track Committees for the early processing and issue of licences and permits in order to expedite the implementation of investment projects and further enhance investment.

This decision follows the meeting of the Joint Public-Private Sector Steering Committee held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, last week at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre, Pailles.

During this meeting, stakeholders from the private sector had the occasion to share their concerns as well as expectations in regards to the collaboration and synergy to be developed between Government and the private sector, more specifically with regard to their involvement towards the prompt implementation of the Government’s vision.

It is recalled that Supervising Officers of Ministries have also been requested by the Secretary to Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service, Mr Satteaved Seebaluck, to review and further simplify the legislative procedures and processes for a speedier delivery of permits, licences and other authorisations to further enhance the investment and business environment.
