Mauritius cocktail event a huge success

On Thursday 17 January 2013, Vipin M P Shah, Chairman of Minerva Group and Kamal Taposeea, Chairman of the Board of Minerva Fiduciary Services (Mauritius) held a cocktail event at Mauritius’ impressive Labourdonnais Waterfront Hotel.

With this being the first event of its kind held by Minerva in Mauritius, over 125 of our local professional colleagues and business associates attended, providing the perfect opportunity for Minerva and its members of staff to strengthen a number of well established relationships in addition to forming several new connections.

Among the many guests in attendance were Sayed Cader Hossen, Honorable Minister of Industry, Commerce and Consumer Protection and Clairette Ah-Hen, Chief Executive of the Mauritius Financial Services Commission.

One of the key focuses of the event was to introduce Brian Lee, Minerva’s Group Managing Director, providing him with an opportunity to meet with colleagues and business associates in a convivial atmosphere.

During his speech, Brian commented on the significance of Mauritius as a jurisdiction and the attractive opportunities it presents to Minerva’s clients. The recent establishment of the Mauritius Foundations legislation is a prime example of this; not to mention the numerous Double Taxation Agreements (DTAs), which make Mauritius the ideal hub for investments into Africa and India.

He advised the audience that Minerva has invested heavily in its people and systems and looking to expand its operations in the East, jurisdictions such as Mauritius, and the recently launched Singapore offering, will prove to be incredibly beneficial when looking to meet the evolving needs of our clients.

It will only be through working together with Minerva’s offices in Mauritius, London, Geneva, Dubai and Singapore, that Minerva will be able to uphold its vision, which is ‘to be the independent global fiduciary and corporate services business of choice, providing unparalleled client service founded upon established family values’.

We would like to thank everyone who was able to attend, as we look forward to hosting similar events in the near future.
