Bedell Cristin's legal services expand with new office in Singapore

Bedell Cristin has extended its international reach by opening an office in Singapore to provide BVI legal services.

As part of its ongoing expansion into key markets, Bedell Cristin (Singapore) LLP has been established and will operate from offices in the central business district of Singapore headed by Stephen Adams, an experienced and prominent BVI lawyer. Formerly the principal at award winning BVI firm Barker Adams, Stephen Adams joined Bedell Cristin at the beginning of this year. He has over 15 years' experience in corporate, banking, funds and investment funds work and has worked extensively in BVI, Hong Kong and Canada. He is recommended by the leading legal directories as a prominent lawyer in the BVI.

Richard Gerwat, Managing Partner at Bedell, commented:  'The opening of the office in Singapore is a logical move designed to augment our global reach and range of high quality legal services to our international client base, particularly those in the Asian region. There is a significant global demand for BVI legal services from our clients and it is important we not only respond to that need, but also that we provide the level of experience and client service that our clients have come to expect and deliver it where they need it, hence the key appointment of Stephen to head the new Singapore office.'

Bedell Cristin in Singapore will offer an extensive range of BVI corporate legal services including mainstream corporate finance work, joint ventures, listings, banking, capital markets, IPOs and sale and purchase transactions. It will combine local knowledge of the region with the wider expertise and resources of Bedell.

Based in the central business district in Singapore, the new office adds to the Bedell office network and enhances the firm's ability to provide offshore legal services from leading finance locations worldwide. In addition to the new Singapore office, the firm provides Channel Islands, BVI and Mauritian legal advice, with a strong emphasis on cross border international finance, from offices in Jersey, Guernsey, London, BVI and Mauritius.
