Kenya: France hunt Merali on Kencell

The French government officially requested Kenya to help them interview Sameer Group chairman Naushad Merali over US$20 million (Ksh1.8 billion) deposited in offshore bank accounts in Mauritius and elsewhere.

The French government sent a letter rogatory (a formal request for legal cooperation in another adjudication) to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in October 2008 requesting their assistance in making Naushad Merali available for interview.
