Jersey has for the second consecutive year been judged the International Financial Centre (IFC) of the Year in the Citywealth IFC Awards 2014 in London.
Now in its third year, the Citywealth IFC Awards were established to highlight the expertise and service excellence in major IFCs. This is the second year the ‘IFC of the Year’ category has been included in the Awards, with Jersey having now won both years.
The awards were hosted by Citywealth, a leading events and publishing group, and were judged by an international panel of highly respected practitioners from all sectors.
Karen Jones, editor of Citywealth, commented:
“It has been a period of some turbulence for International Finance Centres and this is when quality really stands out. All the winners of this year’s Awards, including Jersey, have excelled in demonstrating innovation, expertise and first class service throughout 2013.”
Gary Hales, Jersey Finance’s Head of Business Development in Europe and Russia, received the award on January 24th at the ceremony at the Grange City Hotel in London. Geoff Cook, CEO of Jersey Finance commented:
“Highlighting Jersey’s service quality and regulation through awards such as the Citywealth ‘IFC of the Year’ is important in distinguishing Jersey’s position as a leading IFC on the global stage. Having won the award for the second consecutive year further contributes to an impressive 12 months for Jerseys international finance industry.
In the last 12 months, Jersey has been judged: ‘Best offshore Centre’ at the Global Investor/ISF Awards 2013, ‘Best in Class for Fund Services’ at the International Fund & Product Awards 2013, ‘International Financial Centre of the Year’ at the inaugural Wealthbriefing European Awards 2013, ‘International Financial Centre of the Year’ at the Citywealth International Financial Centre Awards 2013 and 'Best Fund Service Centre' at Investment Week's Fund Services Awards 2013.”
