Latham & Watkins launches Hedge Fund Book of Jargon® App

Latham & Watkins LLP is pleased to announce the launch of its Book of Jargon® - Hedge Funds app, a comprehensive glossary of hedge fund slang, legal and regulatory terminology, and acronyms. The Book of Jargon® - Hedge Funds is available as a free download on the iTunes App Store and is fully accessible on the firm website on the Book of Jargon® & Apps page. The app can be used on Apple’s iPhone, iPod and iPad devices.

Covering deal terms from "A/B Exchange” to "Zero Coupon Bond” and more than 900 terms in between, the Book of Jargon® - Hedge Funds provides an interactive library of the A's – Z's of hedge fund jargon, including acronyms regularly used to describe key regulations, slang phrases adopted by professionals in the hedge fund industry, and other legal phrases and definitions.

Latham’s Hedge Fund Task Force, comprised of corporate, finance and litigation lawyers with extensive experience advising the hedge fund industry, led the development of this app. Stephen Wink, corporate partner and co-chair of Latham & Watkins’ Hedge Fund Task Force, said: “As we continue to grow our hedge fund practice and develop and share our expertise in this area, we are excited to offer this innovative tool to the hedge fund industry. This app provides an encyclopedia of information readily available for busy executives on the go.

We are seeing more and more players step into the hedge fund industry as the global economy continues to improve, and we saw a need for a comprehensive hedge fund glossary for both the novice and the industry expert. The Book of Jargon® - Hedge Funds covers the latest terminology as well as industry slang that has been around for years,” said Christopher Clark, litigation partner and co-chair of Latham & Watkins’ Hedge Fund Task Force. “We are excited to add this Book of Jargon® to our suite of apps and products designed specifically for the finance and business communities.

The Book of Jargon® - Hedge Funds app is the seventh in a series of Book of Jargon® apps, which provide a comprehensive online A-Z library covering European capital markets and bank finance, global M&A, global restructuring, US corporate and bank finance, Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs) and US project finance terms and acronyms.
